Mr. Freidheim was appointed as the Sun-Times Media Group President and Chief Executive Officer in November 2006. From 2002 to 2004, Mr. Freidheim was Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Chiquita Brands International Inc., a major producer, marketer and distributor of fresh produce. From 1990 to 2002, Mr. Freidheim was Vice Chairman at Booz Allen & Hamilton International, a management consulting firm, in Chicago, Illinois, having joined Booz Allen & Hamilton International in 1966. Mr. Freidheim currently serves as a director of Allegheny Energy Inc., which is a United States public reporting company. Mr. Freidheim received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, a Ph.D. (Honorary) in International Law from Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management (of which he is Former Chairman) and served as an officer in the U.S. Navy for four years prior to attending graduate business school. He has served on several corporate boards including, HSBC Finance Corporation and SITEL Corporation. Mr. Freidheim is a trustee of the Brookings Institution, the Chicago Council of Global Affairs, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Rush University Medical Center, and is a member of the Commercial Club of Chicago, the Economics Club and the Council of Foreign Relations (New York).

Mr. Surkamer has served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Sun-Times News Group since September 2007 and was named President on February 10, 2009. Mr. Surkamer joined the Company in January 2007 as Vice President of Operations. Prior to joining the Sun-Times News Group, Mr. Surkamer was President and Chief Operating Officer of Rollex Corp., a manufacturer and distributor of building products based in Elk Grove Village, Ill. Mr. Surkamer began his career in newspapers with the Chicago Tribune, where he held a variety of managerial positions in circulation, distribution and production.

Hedy Weiss has been Theater and Dance Critic of the Chicago Sun-Times since 1984, reporting on local, national and international productions, as well as a wide range of other subjects. Since 2002, she also has served as Theater and Dance Critic for "Chicago Tonight," the nightly news magazine on WTTW-Channel 11, Chicago's PBS station, and she is a frequent contributor to programs on WBEZ, the Chicago public radio station. A Contributing Editor to Dance Magazine, Weiss' work also has appeared in the London Observer, the Boston Globe, the Lincoln Center Playbill and many other publications. She has twice served on the Pulitzer Prize panel for Drama. Born in New York, Weiss graduated from Hunter College with a degree in English literature and art history, and early on pursued a career as a dancer and choreographer, with professional training at the Metropolitan Opera and Joffrey Ballet Schools. She moved to Chicago in 1980 and worked for four years as an assistant professor at the Theatre School of DePaul University before turning to full-time journalism.

Mr. Byrd became Treasurer in November 2006, having joined Sun-Times Media Group in July 2006. Prior thereto, he was Corporate Treasurer at Global Home Products.
