Sherrill W. Hudson was named Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TECO Energy in July 2004. He has been a member of the company’s board since January 2003 and served as chair of the Audit Committee until being named Chairman and CEO. Hudson is a member of the Finance Committee, and is intimately involved in overseeing TECO Energy’s operations and the implementation of new corporate strategies. He also serves on the boards of Publix Super Markets, the Standard Register Company and Lennar Corp. Hudson retired from Deloitte & Touche LLP in August 2002 after 37 years of service. He spent 19 years in Miami as Managing Partner for its South Florida offices, which included oversight responsibilities for Deloitte's Florida and Puerto Rico offices for much of that time. Hudson is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, which recognized him as the 2006 Outstanding CPA in Business and Industry. He received his bachelor's degree and graduated cum laude, valedictorian, at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. Known for his community service, Hudson was chair of the 2007 United Way Tampa Bay Campaign and is a member of The Florida Council of 100, the Tampa Chamber of Commerce Corporate Headquarters Committee and the Council of Governors of the Tampa Bay Partnership. J. J. Shackleford President TECO Coal Click on photo for high resolution version. J. J. Shackleford is president of TECO Coal Corp., a subsidiary of TECO Energy. In this role, he is responsible for all TECO Coal operations, including Gatliff Coal Co.; Rich Mountain Coal Co.; Clintwood Elkhorn Mining Co.; Premier Elkhorn Coal Co.; Pike Letcher Land Co.; and Perry County Coal Corp. Shackleford began with TECO Energy as controller of Gatliff Coal in December, 1983, and was named president of Gatliff Coal in March of 1986 before being named president of TECO Coal in December, 1992. Prior to his association with Gatliff Coal, he was controller of Benham Coal, Inc. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Kentucky in 1969. He has received honors from the Kentucky Society of CPA’s as well as the Senate National and State Service Award. Shackleford’s community involvement includes serving as the former chairman of the board of Whitley County Forward in the Fifth; former member of the advisory board of the Baptist Regional Medical Center; and former member of the board of directors of Corbin Little League. John B. Ramil was named President and Chief Operating Officer of TECO Energy in July 2004. He is responsible for TECO Energy’s four operating companies: Tampa Electric, Peoples Gas, TECO Coal and TECO Guatemala. Ramil was named to the company’s board in January 2008. He was formerly President of Tampa Electric Company, and Executive Vice President of its holding company, TECO Energy. William N. Cantrell became President of Peoples Gas in June 1997. Peoples Gas serves more than 330,000 customers in more than 30 counties around Florida, and it serves more than 3,000 megawatts of power generation throughout Florida. Cantrell also served as President of Tampa Electric from September 2003 to October 2004. He joined Tampa Electric in 1975 and held engineering and management positions in several departments before being named vice president-Energy Supply at Tampa Electric in 1994 with responsibility for engineering, operations, maintenance and construction for the company's power production facilities, including environmental matters and fuel procurement. Cantrell is very active in the natural gas industry, serving on the boards of the American Gas Association (AGA), Florida Natural Gas Association (FNGA) and Southern Gas Association (SGA). He will be the president of SGA in 2009. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and was inducted into the school’s Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni in 2005. He also has a master’s degree in business administration from The University of Tampa and is a long-time trustee of that university. Cantrell is a registered professional engineer in Florida and is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and the Florida Engineering Society. Charles A. Attal III was promoted to Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer for TECO Energy Inc. in February 2009. Before that, he had held the positions of Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer since July 1, 2007. In his current position, Mr. Attal is responsible for the legal affairs of the TECO group of companies. Aside from his management responsibilities, Mr. Attal performs legal work in the areas of general corporate, mergers and acquisitions, project development and finance and general commercial matters. Mr. Attal joined TECO Energy as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel on September 17, 2001, to manage the day-to-day legal affairs of the TECO Energy Legal Department, including all of the litigation for the TECO group of companies. In addition, he has handled a myriad of significant transactions in the independent power sector, including the sale of TECO Power Services’ merchant facilities as TECO Power Services exited that sector. He also negotiated and supervised the establishment of over 100 bilateral trading master agreements for gas, power and derivatives and the related credit support. Immediately prior to joining TECO Energy, Mr. Attal was Of Counsel to the Atlanta-based law firm of Troutman Sanders LLP from May 2000 until August 2001. While at Troutman, Mr. Attal focused his practice on Project Finance and Development in the energy industry, as well as Energy Marketing and Trading and Derivatives. Mr. Attal spent the first 15 years of his legal career in various positions at Mobil Oil Corp. at its headquarters in New York City, and then, in Fairfax, Virginia; Singapore; London; and Hong Kong, where he was a Director and General Counsel of Mobil Oil Hong Kong. While at Mobil, Mr. Attal handled significant transactions in the United States, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, England, Austria, France, Spain, Gibraltar, Germany, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Cyprus, Turkey, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and the Peoples Republic of China. Mr. Attal received his J.D. in 1985 from the University of South Carolina, where he was an Articles Editor for the South Carolina Law Review, a member of the Order of the Coif and a member of the Wig and Robe. Mr. Attal was awarded an Eagleton Fellowship by the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University and received his Master of Arts in Political Science from Rutgers University in 1982. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and in Philosophy in 1981 from the University of South Carolina, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Attal is admitted to practice law in New York and in Georgia and is an Authorized in House Counsel in Florida. He also has been admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and for the Northern District of Georgia. Clinton E. Childress is Senior Vice President Corporate Services and Chief Human Resources Officer of TECO Energy. Karen has worked in the electric utility industry for 26 years. In 1990, she joined Tampa Electric as an engineer in the Marketing Department, and her various roles at TECO include Distribution Engineering, Telecommunications and Information Technology. Karen leads a team of technical professionals responsible for TECO Energy's corporate computing systems. Under her leadership, TECO Energy has been recognized several times as one of the “100 Best Places to Work in IT” and among the “Top 500 Companies in Technology Innovation.” Karen serves on the boards of the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay and the Boys and Girls Club of Tampa Bay, and is a past chair of the Hillsborough Community College Foundation Board. She has been a recipient of Tampa Bay’s "40 Under 40" award, which recognizes top community achievers. Charles O. "Chuck" Hinson is TECO Energy's vice-president-State Governmental Affairs. In that role, he manages political and governmental affairs for all TECO Energy companies in Florida, and is primarily based in the company's Tallahassee office. The role includes state legislative and executive branch relationships and issues, as well as support for regulatory and media issues affecting the operating companies at the state and local government level. Hinson also serves as liaison to the State Chamber of Commerce, Associated Industries of Florida and other business groups. Hinson joined TECO Energy in 1994 as director-State Governmental Affairs, and was promoted to assistant vice president in 1998 and vice president in 2000. Previously, Hinson served as director-State Governmental Affairs of Florida for Centel/Sprint Corp. from 1988-94, and director-State Governmental Affairs for the Florida Dental Association from1980-88. From 1979-80, Hinson served as an aide to then-Gov. Bob Graham, responsible for serving as a liaison with several state agencies and as a member of the crisis management team. From 1977-79, Hinson was a communications specialist/policy analyst with the Florida Energy Office. Janet L. Sena is TECO Energy's vice president for Federal Affairs. She joined the company as assistant vice president for Federal Affairs in 2000. She is responsible for reviewing and evaluating legislative and administrative policies, and for advocating the positions of TECO Energy Inc. to state and federal government. She has more than 15 years experience in state and federal work in the economic development, energy and environment arena. Before joining TECO Energy, she was director of state government affairs for Edison Mission Energy, one of the country’s largest independent power producers. She established the government relation operations in 10 states, including Florida. Prior to EME, Sena lobbied for energy clients at Skadden Arps law firm in Washington after working as Sen. Robert Dole’s legislative assistant for energy and environment issues. She managed the Senator’s agenda for energy, environment, transportation, small business and regulatory reform issues. In addition, Mrs. Sena advised Senator Dole’s Presidential campaign on these issues in 1996. Before working for Senator Dole, she managed more than $12 million dollars in Hurricane Iniki economic development grants in Hawaii. She first came to Washington, DC in 1989 from Indiana to serve on the Senate Agriculture Committee for Sen. Richard Lugar, where she handled rural electric utility, telecommunications and economic development issues. While in Indiana, she worked for Lt. Governor John Mutz from 1984-1989 as his representative in the Indiana State Senate. She joined the Lt. Governor’s office after being selected as a Governor’s Fellow for Governor Robert Orr in 1983. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, cum laude, from Hanover College in Hanover, IL. She and her husband Steve live in Springfield, Virginia.

Prior to that, Barringer held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility, including Assistant Controller, Director of Pricing and Financial Analysis and Director of Business Planning, since joining Tampa Electric in 1984. Prior to his career with Tampa Electric, Barringer worked for Coopers & Lybrand as a staff auditor and held management positions in the banking industry for six years. Barringer received a bachelor's degree in Biology from Davidson College and a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of South Florida. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of CPAs. Barringer is a board member for the University of South Florida's Stavros Center for Economic Education. Previous community involvement includes serving as a board member of the Spring of Tampa Bay and as board member and then Chairman of the Board for The Tampa Connection, a leadership program affiliated with United Way.

Bruce Christmas was named Vice President of Fuels Management for TECO Energy in September of 2003. As Vice President of Fuels Management, Christmas has primary responsibility for fuels management and strategy for TECO Energy as a whole. This includes fuels procurement services at Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas System and wholesale power purchases and sales at Tampa Electric. He has overall responsibility for gas origination and directs the development of comprehensive gas acquisition strategies and policies. Christmas also provides direction on capacity requirements for interstate transmission, risk management and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issues. Previously Christmas served as President of TECO Gas Services, a retail natural gas supplier for mid- to large-sized commercial businesses throughout Florida. Prior to his role at TGS, Christmas served as Vice President of Operations for Peoples Gas System. He was responsible for directing daily operations, as well as engineering and technical services. Before joining Peoples Gas, he was the Vice President of Operations for West Florida Natural Gas Company. Christmas received a bachelor's degree in Engineering in 1985 from the University of Florida and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Florida.

Sandra W. "Sandy" Callahan is Vice President of Treasury and Risk Management for TECO Energy, and recently was named as the company's Chief Accounting Officer. She joined TECO Energy in 1988 as Director of Internal Audit and served in several corporate finance positions before being named Treasurer in 1995. She is responsible for corporate finance activities, Securities and Exchange Commission reporting, investor relations, risk management and the management and administration of corporate funds and funded benefit assets for TECO Energy and its operating companies. Before joining TECO Energy, Callahan was an audit manager with the Tampa office of Coopers and Lybrand, a major public accounting firm. Callahan serves on the Executive Advisory Council for the University of South Florida's College of Business Administration. She also is past president of the Centre for Women, and was treasurer of Alpha House of Tampa for eight years. Callahan also served on the Board of Trustees of the Lowry Park Zoo Endowment Foundation. She graduated from the University of Baltimore with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, and attended the University of South Florida in Tampa before sitting for the Certified Public Accountant examination in 1981. She earned state and national honors for that examination and has been a licensed CPA in Florida since that time.

William T. “Bill” Whale was named Vice President-Energy Delivery in 2006. Prior to that, he served as Vice President-Energy Supply and earlier as Vice President of Business Development for TECO Energy’s TECO Transport subsidiary. In his career with TECO Energy, he has also served as Vice President-Operations for TECO Bulk Terminal (formerly Electro-Coal Transfer), Director of Operations for TECO Power Services (now TECO Wholesale Generation) and General Manager of Hardee Power Station. He also held a variety of engineering, administrative and technical positions within the Tampa Electric’s fleet of power plants. Whale received his bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and his MBA degree from the Florida Institute of Technology. Before joining Tampa Electric, Whale sailed as a marine engineer on various U.S. flag vessels. He holds the rank of Captain in the United States Naval Reserve. He has had three Commanding Officer tours and one Executive Officer tour. Whale holds a professional engineer’s license with the State of Florida and a United States Coast Guard Third Assistant Engineer License.
