James W. Griffith is president and chief executive officer of The Timken Company and a member of the company's board of directors. Since being named president in 1999, Griffith has led a transformation of The Timken Company focused on creating ever-increasing levels of value for customers and shareholders. By harnessing its legendary quality and industry-leading innovation, Timken has pushed beyond its historic leadership in the tapered roller bearing market into a vast global market for technologies to manage the friction generated by moving parts and improve the transmission of power in a wide array of machines. Alastair R. "Al" Deane is senior vice president technology at The Timken Company and an officer of the company. J. Ted Mihaila is senior vice president – controller and an officer of The Timken Company. Since being named to this position in 2006, Mihaila has directed the company’s compilation, analysis and reporting of accurate and timely financial results. Under his guidance, the finance team provides information that enables company leaders to make strategic decisions about growth opportunities, investments and markets. Earlier in 2006, Mihaila assumed the role of vice president – business development and controller in the Industrial Group. William R. Burkhart is senior vice president and general counsel and an officer of The Timken Company. He leads a team that provides legal counsel and support for all of Timken’s global business activities, including acquisitions and affiliations. Pat Grischow is a Senior Government Affairs Specialist for The Timken Company, a leading international manufacturer of highly engineered bearings, alloy and specialty steels and components, headquartered in Canton, Ohio. Ward J. “Tim” Timken, Jr. is chairman of the board of directors of The Timken Company. He was elected to the board in 2002 and later served as vice chairman prior to being named chairman in 2005. Previously Timken served as president of the company’s Steel Group, leading it to record levels of profitability. In 2000, Timken served as corporate vice president in the Office of the Chairman. Responsible for strategy development, he played a pivotal role in the acquisition and integration of The Torrington Company, by far the largest acquisition in the company’s history. The addition of Torrington doubled the size of The Timken Company and significantly expanded its product breadth and capabilities for friction management and powertrain solutions. His other positions at the company included key postings in Europe and Latin America in the 1990s. While in Europe, he led a team to acquire bearing-making assets in Romania and other regions in Central and Eastern Europe. In Latin America, he was responsible for all operations and sales from Mexico to Argentina. Before joining The Timken Company in 1992, he opened and managed the Washington, D.C., office of McGough & Associates, a Columbus, Ohio-based government affairs consulting firm. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Georgetown University and a Master of Business Administration from the Darden School at the University of Virginia. Timken is a member of the board of directors of Pella Corporation.
