It makes and distributes automotive products, industrial power systems, plumbing components, windows, doors, valves, and other construction products. In the US, its Gates division sells automotive belts and hoses, Trico sells wiper blades and Stant deals in automotive caps, seals, and gaskets. Founded in 1982, the company has 47 manufacturing facilities located in the United States, the United Kingdom and Asia. It employs about 36,700 people and has revenue of approximately $6 billion. In March 2006 the company acquired Selkirk Americas, L.P., a privately held company based in Richardson, Texas for about $124 million.
