the Calgary Zoo, past Chair of the ecoENERGY Carbon Capture and Storage Task Force and past
Chair of the CalgaryCommittee to End Homelessness. He is a director of the Fraser Institute and
the Canadian INSEAD Foundation. In 2008 Mr. Snyder received the Honorary Associate Award

Ken Stickland, Chief Legal Officer (CLO), is responsible for directing the corporation's legal affairs, sustainable development and environmental health and safety initiatives. Michael Williams, Chief Administration Officer (CAO), is responsible for leading the human resources, information technology and corporate communications teams. Prior to joining TransAlta in 2002, Mr. Williams was Vice-President for Lucent Europe. During his career, he has held a number of positions including Senior Director of Human Resources at Cisco Systems in California and the United Kingdom; Global Vice-President, Human Resources at Newbridge Networks in Ottawa; and Director of Human Resources with National Semiconductor. Mr. Williams has over 25 years experience covering all aspects of Human Resources. Mr. Williams has a Master of Human Resources Management from the University of Aston in Birmingham, England. Mr. Williams is currently the Chairman of the Board of Governors of Hull Child and Family Services.

Richard Langhammer, Chief Productivity Officer (CPO), has accountability for creating strategies to increase productivity across TransAlta. Prior to this, Mr. Langhammer was Executive Vice President, Generation Operations, and was responsible for managing the operations of our assets across Canada, the United States and Australia. Mr. Langhammer joined TransAlta in 1985, as Assistant Manager, Operations at one of TransAlta's Alberta coal-fired facilities. After a two-year assignment in Human Resources from 1989 to 1991, Mr. Langhammer moved to Ottawa as Plant Manager of TransAlta's first gas-fired cogeneration facility. In 1995, Mr. Langhammer was promoted to Director, Plant Operations for Ontario, a position he held until 2000. In 2001, Mr. Langhammer returned to Calgary holding positions in increasing responsibility in Generation Operations before going to Washington state as President, U.S. Operations in 2003. Mr. Langhammer has a bachelor of science from the University of Waterloo. He also has First Class Stationary Engineer's Certificates in Alberta and Ontario.

Gregory Reinhart, Vice-President, Human Resources - Business Partner Support is responsible for all business partner human resources including training and recruitment and organizational effectiveness initiatives. Previously, Mr. Reinhart served as TransAlta's Vice-President, Commercial Operations and Development Human Resources. Mr. Reinhart joined TransAlta in 1999 as Director of Human Resources for independent power projects. Since that time he has been responsible for developing and delivering effective human resources solutions to the company in a variety of senior management roles. Prior to joining TransAlta, Mr. Reinhart spent 20-years in human resources in a variety of industries including energy, education, government and banking. Parviz Mohamed, Vice-President, Information Technology, is responsible for information technology strategy, planning and implementation including associated business transformation projects for TransAlta's worldwide operations. Prior to this role, Ms. Mohamed was Director, Major Maintenance Planning, where she was accountable for leading long-term planning for all major maintenance activities over the life of TransAlta's generation plants. Ms. Mohamed joined TransAlta in 1981 and has held increasingly senior positions within the organization, primarily in Information Technology. During her time at TransAlta, she has been Acting Chief Information Officer, Director Application Development and Support, Director IT Development Services and has led the IT portion of a number of significant corporate developments including the divestiture of TransAlta's distribution and retail business. Ms. Mohamed is a graduate from Mount Royal College's Computer Science program. She is Past President of the Board of the Calgary Immigrant Women's Association and an Ambassador for the World Partnership Walk.

Derek commenced his career in the Security Industry over 23 years ago with Honeywell Ltd. Prior to joining AFSS, Derek was employed with the Integrated Systems Group at ADT Security Services. Derek has received certification on the following products: Lenel, Honeywell systems including Westinghouse, PCSC and more recently Nexwatch (formerly Northern Computers). Derek also has extensive knowledge of Pelco, Bosch and Panasonic camera systems and peripheral devices. He has considerable experience in the application of integrated Access Control and Closed Circuit Television Systems. Derek brings a wealth of product and system design experience to the AFSS team. Mr. Faithfull is a 36-year veteran of Royal Dutch/Shell plc (energy), where he filled diverse roles that spanned the globe. As President and CEO of Shell Canada Limited, he was responsible for bringing the $6 billion Athabasca Oil Sands Project on line, the first fully integrated oil sands venture in 25 years. Mr. Faithfull has extensive experience with commodity exposure and risk management, the result of his time directing the global crude oil trading operation for the Shell International Trading and Shipping Company from 1993 to 1996. Mr. Faithfull is a director of Canadian Pacific Railway Limited, the Shell Pension Trust Limited, and AMEC plc. At TransAlta, Mr. Faithfull is Chair of the Human Resources Committee of the Board. From 1997 to 2001, Mr. Giffin served as the United States Ambassador to Canada with responsibility for managing Canada/US bilateral relations, including energy and environmental policy. Prior to this appointment, he practiced law for 18 years as a senior partner in Atlanta, Georgia and Washington D.C. His practice focused on energy regulatory work at the state and federal levels. Prior to that, he served as Chief Counsel and Legislative Director to United States Senator Sam Nunn, with responsibility for the legal and legislative operations of the office. In 2001, Mr. Giffin returned to private practice where he specializes in state and federal regulatory matters, including those related to trade, energy and trans-border commerce.

Mr. Bourne has been the Chair of our Board from February 2006 to present. Mr. Bourne retired from TransAlta Corporation in December 2006. He was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of TransAlta Corporation (electricity generation and marketing) from 1998 to 2005. He was also President of TransAlta Power LP from 1998 to 2006.

John Ferguson was named to Suncor’s Board of Directors in November 1995 and was appointed chairman of the Board following the company's 2007 annual meeting.
Mr. Ferguson is founder and chairman of the board of Princeton Developments Ltd. and Princeton Ventures Ltd. in Edmonton, Alberta. He is also a director of Fountain Tire Ltd., the Royal Bank of Canada and Strategy Summit Ltd. Mr. Ferguson is a director of the C.D. Howe Institute, the Alberta Bone and Joint Institute, and an advisory member of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research.
His involvement in the community includes chancellor emeritus and board of governors chairman emeritus of the University of Alberta, and he is a member of the Business Advisory Council of the School of Business, University of Alberta. Mr. Ferguson is also a fellow of the Alberta Institute of Chartered Accountants, a member of the World Presidents' Organization and a fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Mr. Ferguson received an honorary doctor of laws degree from the University of Alberta in 1996 and, in 2001, he was inducted into the Junior Achievement Alberta Business Hall of Fame. In 1992, he received a commemorative medal for the 125th anniversary of the Confederation of Canada; in 2003, he received the commemorative Golden Jubilee Medal and, in 2005, he received the Alberta Centennial Medal.
A graduate of the University of Alberta in 1964 with a bachelor of commerce degree, Mr. Ferguson received his CA designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1967.

Mr. Jespersen has been Chair and CEO of La Jolla Resources International Ltd. since 1998 (advisory and investments). He has also held senior executive positions with NOVA Corporation of Alberta, Foothills Pipe Lines Ltd., and Husky Oil Limited before assuming the presidency of Foothills Pipe Lines Ltd. and later, NOVA Gas International Ltd. At NOVA, he led the non-regulated energy services business (including energy trading and marketing) and all international activities.
