UAL is a holding company whose principal subsidiary is United Air Lines, Inc. (United). Through United, Co. transports people and cargo through its Mainline operations, which utilize full-sized jet aircraft, and its regional operations, which utilize smaller aircraft that are operated under contract by United Express® carriers. As of Dec 31 2007, Co. operated more than 3,300 flights a day on United, United Express and Ted, a low-fare service, to over 200 U.S. domestic and international destinations, from its hubs in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago and Washington, D.C. Also, as of Dec 31 2007, Co.'s operating fleet totaled 460 aircrafts.
