Jay McCormack was first elected to the Unified Grocers Board of Directors in 1993. Jay owns and operates nine Rio Ranch Market stores located in San Bernardino (3), Riverside, Chino, Twentynine Palms, Banning, Yucaipa, and Highland, California. Ten years after founding his first Rio Ranch Market in 1983, Jay merged the management of his store with another retailer and together they launched a marketing plan that would appeal to the growing Latino community in Southern California as well as the general population. Today, Rio Ranch Market is one of the fastest growing independent retail chains in Southern California. Jay has also served as chairman of the Board of Directors of the California Grocers Association.

President and Chief Executive Officer, Epson America, Inc. John Lang was first elected to the Unified Grocers Board of Directors in 2003. John is the president and chief executive officer of Epson America, Inc., a position he has held since 2002. He joined Epson in 1987 as vice president of finance and chief financial officer and became executive vice president of operations in 1993 and chief operating officer in 1995. Under his leadership, Epson has built a strong sales and marketing program, focusing on outstanding customer service and operational efficiency. John is also an executive managing director for Seiko Epson Corporation. Before joining Epson, John was a management consultant for retail, manufacturing, and financial service clients at Coopers and Lybrand, now PricewaterhouseCoopers. John also serves on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Villanova University. He is a former Certified Public Accountant in California and also a Certified Management Accountant.

Mark Kidd was first elected to the Unified Grocers Board of Directors in 1992 and served until 2002. He was re-elected for a second term in 2006. Mark is the president of Mar-Val Food Stores, an independent, family grocery business founded by his family in 1952. Since that time the business has grown from one store to four supermarkets located in Georgetown, Prather, Ripon and Valley Springs, California. Mark has spent over 30 years working in various aspects of the business including, store supervisor, operations manager, vice president and his current position of president. In addition to serving on the Unified Board, Mark has served as chairman of the Northern California Grocers Association, chairman of the Board of the California Grocers Association, and on the Board of Directors of the National Grocers Association.
Mike Provenzano is the President, Chief Executive Officer for Pro's Ranch Markets. Mr. Provenzano is a recognized leader whose strategic planning and operational expertise has proven invaluable for the Company. His focused vision and effective leadership skills has enabled Pro's Ranch Markets to rise to the next level in the Supermarket Industry. Mr. Provenzano began his career working for three grocery chains in Southern California during the 1960's and 1970's. In 1982, he opened his first grocery store in the community of Ontario, California. In 1997, Mike's knowledge of the industry, enabled him to open Delano and Arvin Ranch Market. Shortly, thereafter in 1999 and 2000, Mr. Provenzano opened his signature stores in Phoenix, Arizona and was named the 2004 Arizona Retailer of the Year. While holding the position as CEO of Pro's Ranch Markets, Mr. Provenzano has served on a variety of Boards. Mike is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Unified Western Grocers and has been a member of the Executive Committee for the National Grocers Association as well as a member of the Arizona Food Marketing Alliance Board (AFMA). He is currently on the Food Marketing Institute Board, the Western Association of Food Chains Board, and most recently received the Ben Schwartz Retail Grocery Visionary Award from Unified Western Grocers, Inc. Mike Provenzano has a Bachelor Degree from Cal Poly Pomona and Masters Degree from the University of Southern California. He is married, has four sons, all of whom are working at Pro's Ranch Markets in various positions and eleven grandchildren.
First Vice Chairman, President, White Salmon Foods, Inc., Estacada Foods Inc., Novato Foods, Inc. Peter (Pete) O'Neal was first elected to the Unified Grocers Board of Directors in 1999. He has served as first vice chairman of the Board since 2005. Prior to being appointed to the Unified Board, Peter served on the Board of Directors of United Grocers (a predecessor company of Unified Grocers) for ten years, including serving as its chairman. Pete is the owner and operator of four independent supermarkets including three Thriftway stores located in Estacada, Oregon, Molalla, Oregon and White Salmon, Washington. He also owns an Apple Market located in Novato, California. Pete launched his grocery career over 40 years ago as a courtesy clerk for Tradewell Stores. He was later promoted to positions of greater responsibility including store director and Oregon district manager. As Tradewell's Oregon district manager, Pete was responsible for 32 stores that operated as traditional or price impact formats. In 1985, Pete purchased his own Food Valu store. Since that time, he has evolved and grown his family business to its current size and store formats. Pete has also served on the Thriftway Board of Directors and the Unified Western Grocers Regional Advisory Committee.
Robert (Bob) Stiles was first elected to the Unified Grocers Board of Directors in 1999. Bob is the president of Gelson's Markets an independent grocery store chain with 18 locations stretching from Santa Barbara to Dana Point, California. Bob began his career with Gelson's in 1960 and has served in many capacities, including clerk, assistant manager, grocery manager, store director, director of grocery merchandising, vice president of marketing. He was appointed president in 1996. His leadership has helped Gelson's earn their superior reputation for quality, service and unique product selection. In addition to serving on the Unified Board, Bob has served as a director and chairman of the California Grocers Association.

Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications and Government Affairs Rentech, Inc. Thomas (Tom) Sayles was first elected to the Unified Grocers Board of Directors in 2003. Tom is senior vice president, corporate communication and government affairs for Rentech, Inc., a Colorado-based company offering energy independence solutions utilizing American resources to economically produce ultra-clean fuels. Prior to joining Rentech, Tom was vice president, government and community affairs for San Diego, California-based Sempra Energy. Before Sempra Energy, he served as California's secretary of business transportation and housing and as a member of the cabinet of California Governor Pete Wilson. In that position, he managed numerous state departments, including the Department of Transportation, with a budget in excess of $7 billion and approximately 40,000 employees. Tom has also served on numerous public and private sector boards including California Federal Bank and the University of California Board of Regents.

Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, K.V. Mart Co. Darioush Khaledi was first elected to Unified Grocers Board of Directors in 1989 and served until 1991. He was re-elected for a second term in 1993. Darioush is a first generation Persian-American who left his country to protest its dictatorship regime. Shortly after his arrival in Los Angeles, he teamed up with his brother-in-law and they acquired their first Top Valu Market in Torrance, California. Today, Darioush heads a chain of 23 markets, under the banners of Top Valu Market, Valu Plus Food Warehouse, Buy Low, Price Rite Grocery Depot, Amar Ranch and Valu Mart. He also is the founder of Darioush Winery in Napa Valley, California. Darioush serves on the Board of Directors of the Food Marketing Institute, Western Association of Food Chains, Inc., and served as chairman of the Board of Directors of the California Grocers Association. He is also the recipient of the Entrepreneur of the Year award in Southern California and the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
John Berberian was first elected to the Unified Grocers Board of Directors in 1991. John is the co-founder of Jons Marketplace, a family owned supermarket chain with fourteen Southern California locations serving Los Angeles (4), Van Nuys (2), Glendale (2), West Hollywood, Winnetka, North Hollywood, Simi Valley, Westminster, Reseda. Since its founding in 1977, Jons has adapted to the changing demographics of the region and successfully competed and grown in the communities they serve. John currently serves on the Board of Directors of Memorial Health Foundation, Campbell Hall High School, AGBU Manoogian Demirdjian School, and has served as city commissioner for the Department of Transportation for the City of Los Angeles. He also is a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.

Michael (Mike) Trask was first elected to the Unified Grocers Board of Directors in 2007. Prior to serving on the Unified Board, Mike served on the Board of Directors of Associated Grocers, Inc. (a predecessor company of Unified Grocers). Mike is the owner and operator of Granite Falls Red Apple Market in Granite Falls, Washington. He has been in the food industry for over forty years. Prior to purchasing his own independent retail store, he was the director of food service for Brown and Cole, Inc., an independent retail chain in Washington. Mike began his grocery career as a courtesy clerk and eventually moved into positions of increasing responsibility, including store manager and district manager, while working for Thrifty Foods, Inc. In addition to his service on the Unified Grocers Board, Mike serves on the Board of Directors of Northwest Grocers, Red Apple Inc. and as chairman and trustee of Pacific Benefits Trust. Mike is the recipient of the Granite Falls Citizen of the Year Award and the Granite Falls Lions Club Corporate Citizen of the Year Award.

Prior to serving on the Unified Board, Paul served on the Board of Directors of Associated Grocers, Inc. (a predecessor company of Unified Grocers). Paul owns and operates West Seattle Thriftway, a business he has developed from a small local store into a leading supermarket in the Seattle marketplace. Paul began his grocery career over 30 years ago as a courtesy clerk for a supermarket chain. He was soon promoted to various position of increasing responsibility and eventually became a store director. In 1988, he purchased his own independent, retail store. In addition to serving on the Unified Board, Paul serves on the Thriftway Board of Directors and the Northwest Grocers Board of Directors.
