Like most successful companies, Univex started with a single product built around ingenuity. Charlie Papadinis, our founder, invented and first manufactured an automatic potato peeler in a small warehouse space in Somerville, Massachusetts in 1948. After the end of World War II and the Korean conflict, Charlies brothers John and Jim joined the company and Univex introduced its first planetary mixer in 1953. Interstate highway construction in Boston prompted the company to move to a new manufacturing facility in Salem, New Hampshire in 1961, where Univex still manufactures its own lines of mixers, slicers, peelers, and food processing equipment today. We are a family-owned business with a proud tradition of building rugged, reliable products that meet the exacting standards of our most important assets and partners: our customers. Our products include: - A comprehensive line of planetary & spiral mixers, ranging in size from the compact countertop 12qt. planetary mixer to the massive M250 spiral mixer, which mixes up to a whopping 550lbs. of dough at one time! - A wide variety of reversible dough sheeters. Sizes go from 28 to 59 table lengths and our line includes the fully automatic Genie reversible sheeter. - Dough processing equipment including dough dividers, dough rounders, combo dough divider/rounders, and three sizes of single pass dough sheeters. - A complete line of slicers divided into four distinct duty categories, the economical Prepsaver series, the rugged yet...
