George L. Kirkland is executive vice president of Global Upstream and Gas for Chevron Corporation. He is responsible for Chevron Corporation's global exploration, production, and gas activities. He assumed this position in January 2005 and is based in San Ramon, California. Kirkland served as president of Chevron Overseas Petroleum from 2002 through 2004, responsible for exploration and production operations outside North America, and was president of Chevron U.S.A. Production Co. in 2000-2001, responsible for exploration and production operations in the United States and Canada. From 1992 through 1999, Kirkland was based in Nigeria, where he held the positions of general manager of production, and chairman and managing director of Chevron Nigeria Ltd. In 1990, Kirkland was appointed group manager of upstream technology for Chevron Research and Technology Co., following a series of upstream assignments of increasing responsibility in San Francisco, Denver, Midland, Indonesia, Lafayette, and New Orleans. Kirkland joined Chevron in 1974 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Kirkland is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Africa America Institute, a board member of the Corporate Council on Africa, a director of the U.S.-Kazakhstan Business Association, a director of the US-ASEAN Business Council, and also a board member of the American Petroleum Institute.

Patricia E. Yarrington is vice president and chief financial officer of Chevron Corporation, a position she assumed in January 2009. A native of Orange, N.J., Yarrington earned a bachelor's degree in political science in 1977 from Pomona College in Claremont, Calif., and a master's degree in business administration from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, in Evanston, Ill. Yarrington joined Chevron in 1980 and held various financial and analytical positions in the corporation and Chevron U.S.A. Inc. In 1986, she was named manager of investor relations for the corporation. She went on to hold supervisory positions of increasing responsibility in Chevron Products Co., Chevron U.S.A. Production Co., and Chevron Research and Technology Co. In 1995, she was named manager of credit card enterprises for marketing department of Chevron Products Co. In June 1997, she was named comptroller for Chevron Products Co. In March 1998, she was appointed president of Chevron Canada Ltd., a petroleum products refining and marketing company, headquartered in Vancouver, B.C. In August 2000, Yarrington was named vice president of strategic planning for Chevron, responsible for advising senior corporate executives in setting strategic direction, allocating capital, determining operating unit performance measures and targets, and significant mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. In November 2002, she was named vice president of policy, government and public affairs for Chevron. In this capacity, she oversaw U.S. and international government relations, all aspects of corporate communications, and the company's worldwide efforts in community outreach. In April 2007, she was named corporate vice president and treasurer of Chevron Corporation. In this capacity, she oversaw the company's financing strategies and cash management activities. Yarrington is on the board of directors of Chevron Phillips Chemical Co., a 50-50 joint venture with ConocoPhillips Petroleum, one of the world's top commodity chemicals producers. Yarrington currently serves on the San Francisco Federal Reserve's Board of Directors

Charles A. James is executive vice president for Chevron Corporation. Most recently, he was assistant attorney general in charge of the Antitrust Division at the U.S. Department of Justice. Prior to his assignment at the Justice Department, James practiced law at Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue in Washington, D.C., where he chaired the firm's worldwide antitrust and trade regulation practice. James received his bachelor's degree in 1976 from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut and his law degree in 1979 from the National Law Center at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He joined the Federal Trade Commission where, from 1979 to 1985, he served in several positions, including assistant to the director of the commission's Bureau of Competition. In 1985, he joined the international law firm Jones Day. James interrupted his tenure to serve in the first Bush administration as deputy assistant attorney general and later as acting assistant attorney general. James returned to Jones Day in 1993. His practice concentrated primarily on antitrust matters, including mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, particularly in the telecommunications, health care, information technology and financial services industries. He has extensive international and regulatory experience in and out of government. He assumed the position of general counsel for Chevron Corporation in December 2002 and the position of executive vice president on April 1, 2009. James has been active in numerous professional and public service organizations. He has held leadership positions in the American Bar Association's Business Law and Antitrust Law sections and has been a member of the Antitrust Council of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. James was born in 1954.

Jay Pryor is Chevron Corporation vice president for Corporate Business Development. He is responsible for identifying and developing new, large-scale business opportunities throughout the world.
A native of Mississippi, Pryor earned his bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from Mississippi State University in 1979. That same year, he joined Chevron U.S.A. Production Co. as a petroleum engineer and held a number of production-related positions. He gained valuable downstream management experience in U.S. natural gas sales during the country's transition toward deregulation.
Pryor held a succession of management positions with increasing responsibilities in Asia, the United States, Europe and the former Soviet Union.
In 1992, Pryor joined Chevron's international subsidiary Chevron Overseas Petroleum Inc. as the first manager of petroleum engineering in the newly established Tengizchevroil joint venture in Kazakhstan. In 1996, he transferred to San Ramon, Calif., as sponsor in charge of career development for operations personnel. He also served as general manager of Human Resources for Chevron's worldwide operations.
In 1999, he became managing director of the Asia South business unit and managing director of Chevron Offshore (Thailand) Ltd. In 2002, Pryor was named managing director of Chevron Nigeria Ltd., one of Nigeria's leading petroleum exploration and production companies. In that position, he was responsible for directing Chevron's oil and gas operations in West Africa, including Nigeria, São Tomé, Chad and in Equatorial Guinea.
Pryor assumed his current position in May 2006.
Pryor also is co-chairman of the Nigerian Business Coalition Against HIV/AIDS, a body inaugurated by Nigeria's President Olusegun Obasanjo to spearhead efforts by the country's private sector to combat the spread of the deadly disease. In addition, he is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and founded the society's first branch in Kazakhstan.

Richard L. Herz, Esq., Litigation Coordinator, is a 1993 Order of the Coif graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served on the Virginia Law Review. In 1994, he clerked for the Hon. Raymond A. Jackson, U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia. Rick was the 1997-1998 Natural Resources Law Institute Fellow at Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College, where he wrote"Litigating Environmental Abuses Under the Alien Tort Claims Act: A Practical Assessment" , an article about suing multinational corporations for environmental abuses under the Alien Tort Claims Act. He is a member of the New York State Bar. At ERI, Rick directs our work on cases against multinational corporations for international human rights and environmental abuses. As such he is co-counsel for the plaintiffs in Doe v. Unocal, Bowoto v. Chevron, Sahu v. Union Carbide and Wiwa v. Royal Dutch Petroleum. He has also filed amicus briefs in various U.S. Circuit and District courts on behalf of NGOs and law professors in important human rights cases, and he advises human rights and environmental activists and lawyers on international law.
