Dow Jones Description
Utah Scientific was founded in 1977 to develop routing switchers for the television industry, and after only seven months in the spring of 1978 the company delivered its first analog router to KUED-TV in Salt Lake City. The company's integrity and high-quality product quickly earned distinction, and television stations worldwide became Utah customers. Since its first analog router, the AVS-1, Utah Scientific has taken the leadership role in advancing routing technology. Significant milestones for the company include the first large scale digital router, multi-format routing, integrated A/D and D/A conversions on inputs and outputs, integrated fiber optic conversion, and 300-Mb switching capability on all its digital routers since 1992. The company's most recent breakthrough technology is the UTAH-400 iP workgroup router launched at NAB2007 the first product of its kind to offer realtime control of an Ethernet network. Additionally, Utah routers are the most energy efficient on the market. And the company offers the industry's widest range of control panels, allowing customers to specifically tailor Utah routers to fit any operation.
