James Bidzos, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors and founder of VeriSign, is an Internet and security industry pioneer whose accomplishments include building RSA Security into the early standard-bearer for authentication and encryption, and launching VeriSign as a company in 1995 to develop the digital certificate infrastructure for Internet commerce. In July 2008, VeriSign announced the appointment of James Bidzos as interim CEO and President. Bidzos served as VeriSign's first president and CEO and also served as VeriSign's Chairman of the Board of Directors from April 1995 until December 2001, and as Vice Chairman from December 2001 to July 2007. Bidzos served as President and CEO of RSA Security from 1988 to February 1999, and then served as RSA's Vice Chairman from 1999 to May 2002. He has been named one of Time Magazine's "Digital 50" and is in CRN's "Computer Industry Hall of Fame".

As president and chief operating officer of VeriSign, Mr. McLaughlin has responsibility for the company's P&L and operations, including the Naming and Authentication (SSL and IAS) business units, as well as the Technology and Strategy organizations. Previously, Mr. McLaughlin held a number of key positions at VeriSign from 2000 to 2007, ultimately serving as executive vice president of products and marketing. Mr. McLaughlin's other contributions include having run the company's Naming Services business, where he led the successful negotiation of the current agreements for the management of the .com and .net registries. Before leading the Naming Services business, he served as vice president of corporate business development, as well as general manager of the VeriSign Payment Services business. Prior to VeriSign, Mr. McLaughlin was the vice president of sales and business development for Signio, a leading Internet payment company, and was instrumental in the negotiation and acquisition of Signio by VeriSign in 1999. Before joining Signio, Mr. McLaughlin was the vice president of business development for Gemplus, the world's leading smart-card company. And previous to Gemplus, he also served as general counsel of Caere Corporation and practiced law as an attorney with Cooley Godward Kronish LLP. Mr. McLaughlin received his J.D., Magna cum Laude, from Seattle University School of Law and his B.S. Degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Mr. McLaughlin served as an attack helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army and earned an Army Commendation Medal and Airborne Wings.

As Senior Vice President, Finance, and acting Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Brian Robins is responsible for managing all worldwide company operations related to finance, accounting and property management. Before being appointed as acting CFO in April 2008, Mr. Robins served as Senior Vice President, Finance, as a member of the executive leadership team leading the company's financial planning activities, managing acquisition and divestiture integrations as well as operating review teams. Mr. Robins joined VeriSign in January 2007 as Vice President, Finance, and was promoted to Senior Vice President in August 2007. Mr. Robins brings over 16 years of experience specializing in accounting, finance and treasury for high technology companies. Prior to joining VeriSign, Mr. Robins served as Vice President of Finance, Treasurer and Corporate Officer at Neustar. Over a six-year period, he served as a key member of Neustar's leadership team, helping bring the company public, set business strategy, manage acquisition integrations, and assist in the closing of debt and equity transactions. Mr. Robins has also held executive level and financial leadership positions at Worldweb.net, Broadpoint Communications, MCI and Bankers Trust. Mr. Robins holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Lipscomb University and a Masters of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University.

As Chief Technology Officer, Ken Silva oversees VeriSign's mission critical Internet infrastructure that enables and protects billions of interactions every day across the world's voice and data networks. In this role, he oversees the network and information security for VeriSign's portfolio of digital infrastructure solutions that enable the world to securely communicate, conduct commerce and access the latest content. Mr. Silva's responsibilities include oversight of the technical and network security for a definitive database of millions of Web addresses in .com and .net - the world's most recognizable top-level domains. Responding to more than 30 billion DNS queries daily, the platform provide authoritative routing support for every Web address ending with .com or .net. Mr. Silva also oversees the management of two of the world's 13 Internet root servers, a.root-servers.net and j.root-servers.net, considered national IT assets by the U.S. Federal Government. Additionally, Mr. Silva coordinates the security oversight of the system that protects more than 750,000 Web servers with digital certificates, protecting the majority of secure Web sites on the Internet, including 93 percent of the Fortune 500 sites. Mr. Silva serves on the board of directors for the Information Technology, Information Sharing and Analysis Center (IT-ISAC) and is the Chairman of the board of the Internet Security Alliance. He also advises and participates in a number of national and international committees for organizations, including the National Infrastructure Protection Center (NIPC), White House ISP Security Panel, the ICANN DNS Security Panel, the Network Reliability and Interoperability Council (NRIC), and the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC). Mr. Silva previously served as VeriSign's first Chief Security Officer and vice president of technology strategy. He joined VeriSign with more than 20 years experience in the telecommunications and security industries. He came from the National Security Agency where he served 10 years most recently as executive technical director. Mr. Silva has served in various other leadership positions, taught courses at the national cryptologic school, and served 10 years in the United States Air Force.

As senior vice president of Strategic Development, Rusty Lewis is responsible for running a new VeriSign organization that identifies internal issues affecting corporate strategic plans. In addition, he is responsible for managing employee and customer transition activities, including strategic planning and partnerships. From February 2002 until January 2005, Mr. Lewis served as general manager of VeriSign's Naming and Directory Services Group. Prior to joining VeriSign, Mr. Lewis ran a wireless transportation systems integration company for 15 years that was a leader in electronic toll collection systems using RFID technology and two-way radio communications networks. He acquired the company, Syntonic Technology, from Control Data in 1986 and served its President and CEO until 1994, when the company was sold to SAIC. Mr. Lewis ran the successor entity, TransCore, for SAIC until it was sold to a private equity firm in 1999. Prior to 1986, Mr. Lewis managed an oil and gas exploration subsidiary of UGI Corporation and was a Vice President of EF Hutton in the Municipal Finance group. Mr. Lewis serves as Director of Delta Petroleum (symbol:DPTR). He also serves as principal for Lewis Capital Group, a private investment and business consulting entity that is a vehicle for personal investments. Mr. Lewis is a graduate of Deerfield Academy and holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Haverford College and has a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.

Rick Goshorn is responsible for all of VeriSign's legal affairs and for providing legal and business counsel to the Chief Executive Officer, the Global Leadership Team and the Board of Directors. Mr. Goshorn leads VeriSign's Global Law Department and oversees the management of the company's outside counsel. Mr. Goshorn joined VeriSign in June of 2007 as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. From October 2004 to May 2007, he served as General Counsel of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, an international law firm. From 2002 to 2003, Mr. Goshorn was Corporate Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Acterna Corporation, a public communications test equipment company. From 1991 to 2001 he held a variety of senior executive legal positions in London, Brussels, Singapore and Washington with Cable and Wireless PLC, a British telecommunications company, including the position of Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Cable & Wireless Global. Previously, Mr. Goshorn was a senior attorney at Fort Howard Corporation, a paper and plastics manufacturing company. In addition to his corporate positions, Mr. Goshorn spent six years in private practice, first with Frost Brown Todd LLC in Cincinnati, Ohio and later with Gottesman Jones and Partners in London, England. Mr. Goshorn holds a B.A. degree in Economics from the College of Wooster and a J.D. degree from Duke University's School of Law.

As Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategy, Kevin Werner is responsible for VeriSign's strategic development activities, including the company's acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and complex business transactions. Mr. Werner has two decades of experience in evaluating strategic objectives, and in structuring, negotiating and closing complex transactions. Before joining VeriSign in 2007, he served as senior vice president and director of strategic development activities at SAIC. During this time, he negotiated and closed strategic acquisitions and oversaw the divestiture of non-strategic business units. From 2000-2004, he was president and managing director of SAIC Venture Capital Corporation, where he managed a $1.3 billion corporate venture capital fund with a portfolio of 60 investments in early stage technology companies. Mr. Werner joined SAIC as associate general counsel in 1995. Prior to SAIC, he spent 10 years at Seltzer Caplan McMahon & Vitek, becoming a partner in 1990. Mr. Werner earned his doctorate in law from Harvard Law School and a bachelor's degree in political science from George Washington University.

Gregory L. Reyes has served as a director since April 2001. From May 2001 to January 2005, Mr. Reyes served as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Brocade Communications Systems, Inc., a provider of an intelligent platform for networking storage. He is currently a consultant to Brocade. From July 1998 to May 2001, Mr. Reyes served as President and Chief Executive Officer and was a member of the Board of Directors of Brocade. Mr. Reyes holds a B.S. degree in Economics and Business Administration from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, California.

Mr. Lauer has served as Executive Vice President and Group President of Qualcomm, Inc., San Diego, California since December 2006. Mr. Lauer previously served as Chief Operating Officer of Sprint Nextel Corp. from August 2005, in which capacity he directed the Overland Park, Kansas-based company's operations to deliver converged media and communications products and services to consumers. Prior to the merger of Sprint and Nextel in August 2005, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Sprint Corp. from September 2003. A Sprint executive since 1998, Mr. Lauer had also been President of several Sprint units, including Sprint PCS, the Global Markets Division, Sprint Business, and the Consumer Services Group. Before joining Sprint, he served three years as President and Chief Executive Officer of Bell Atlantic in New Jersey. Mr. Lauer received a Bachelor of Science degree in managerial economics from the University of California - San Diego. Mr. Lauer is Co-Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors and a member of the Audit Committee.

Elected 2006 Mr. Simpson has served as president and chief executive officer, capital operations, of GEICO Corporation, an auto insurer, since May 1993. Mr. Simpson previously served as vice chairman of the board of GEICO from 1985 to 1993. He also serves on the board of directors of VeriSign, Inc. Mr. Simpson previously served as a director of our company from 1999 to 2002.

Timothy Tomlinson is a co-founder and partner in the firm of Tomlinson Zisko, LLP specializing in emerging technologies. Under his leadership the law firm grew to over 20 lawyers and is a full service provider of legal services to high technology Silicon Valley companies. Mr. Tomlinson's areas of special expertise include mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, venture funding, corporate transactions and corporate finance. He is the author of numerous articles on insider trading, was a member of the ABA committee that assisted in the amendment of the SEC Rules relating to Section 16 of the 1934 Act and Co-authored Tomlinson Zisko's Audit Committee Handbook. Mr Tomlinson also serves as Chairman of one and member of another public company audit committees and has served on the audit committees of two other public companies and several private company boards. Mr. Tomlinson received an AB degree in Economics and MBA and JD degrees from Stanford University. He is a member of the State Bar of California.

William L. Chenevich has served as a director since April 1995. Mr. Chenevich has served as Vice Chairman of Technology and Operations for U.S. Bancorp, a financial holding company, since February 2001. He served as Vice Chairman of Technology and Operations Services of Firstar Corporation, a financial services company, from 1999 until its merger with U.S. Bancorp in February 2001. Prior thereto, he was Group Executive Vice President of VISA International, a financial services company, from 1994 to 1999. Mr. Chenevich serves as a director of Longs Drug Stores Corporation. Mr. Chenevich holds a B.B.A. degree in Business from the City College of New York and a M.B.A. degree in Management from the City University of New York.
