We are a leading provider of on-demand software for public relations management. Our web-based software suite helps organizations of all sizes fundamentally change the way they communicate with both the media and the public, optimizing their public relations and increasing their ability to measure its impact. Our on-demand software addresses the critical functions of public relations including media relations, news distribution and news monitoring. We deliver our solutions over the Internet using a secure, scalable application and system architecture, which allows our customers to eliminate expensive up-front hardware and software costs and to quickly deploy and adopt our on-demand software. We sell access to our on-demand software primarily through our direct sales channel. As of September 30, 2009, we had 4,001 active subscription customers from a variety of industries, including financial and insurance, technology, healthcare and pharmaceutical and retail and consumer products, as well as government agencies, not-for-profit organizations and educational institutions. We define active subscription customers as unique customer accounts that have an active subscription and have not been suspended for non-payment. We are also a provider of online distribution of press releases. Rick Rudman is a 20-year software veteran and has been the driving force behind Vocus' growth and innovation. Prior to Vocus, Rudman was a senior executive at Dataway Corporation, a company specializing in the development of mission-critical software systems for clients such as KPMG, Booz-Allen and U.S. Navy. Prior to Vocus, Rudman worked as an accountant and also served in the U.S. Air Force. In 2003, Rudman was the Greater Washington Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the software category, and in 1999, Rudman was selected as the High Technology Council of Maryland's "Entrepreneur of the Year." Steve Vintz has served as Chief Financial Officer of Vocus since January 2001 and brings more than 16 years of financial, operational and strategic planning experience in the high technology industry working with both public and private companies. At Vocus, Vintz oversees all financial, legal, HR and administration functions. Prior to Vocus, Vintz was the Vice President of Strategic Planning and Analysis at Snyder Communications, a NYSE listed advertising and marketing services company. During his tenure at Snyder, Vintz played a lead role in the execution and integration of over 45 acquisitions and oversaw growth from $86 million in revenue with 300 employees to nearly $1 billion in revenue with 9,000 employees. Snyder was sold to Havas Advertising for $2.2 billion in September of 2000. Prior to Snyder, Vintz was a manager with Ernst & Young. William Wagner is an accomplished marketing executive with more than 17 years of experience in marketing and sales management in the technology industry. Matthew Siegal was a pioneer in the field of public relations and government relations automation, having co-founded the predecessor to Vocus. Mr Muir is a software engineer turned businessman, with more than 20 years of executive and general management experience in the computer software and services sector. During the course of his career, Mr. Muir has founded and run a number of software and service companies and has been responsible for their significant growth. Before joining Cyveillance, he served as managing director for Isogon International Ltd. in the UK, a New York-based enterprise software and services company and grew the business globally through a combination of direct and indirect sales. Prior to that, he founded Logistics Solutions Ltd., an IBM AS/400 based software and services company located in Hong Kong. Mr. Muir expanded operations throughout the Asia Pacific region, supplying logistics and distribution software and services to some of the largest trading and retail companies in the Far East. He also served as international managing director of RTSI, where he doubled revenues for its regional operations in his first year there. During the 80's Mr.Muir sat on the distribution group board of the UK public company Suter plc and played a key role in its growth from a US$20Million operation in to a US$1Billion world-wide mini-conglomerate. He also sat on the boards of a number of subsidiaries and was a member of the executive team responsible for strategic acquisitions and the turnarounds of under-performing group companies. Mr. Muir is an alumnus of the Coventry University with a degree in Computer Science, speaks several languages, and currently resides in London with his wife and two sons.
