H. Stewart Van Scoyoc is Chief Executive Officer of Washington, D.C.'s largest independent government affairs group, the Van Scoyoc Companies. Stu has created an unparalleled team of 90 professionals serving more than 300 clients in their interaction with federal and state governments. In 1990 Stu founded Van Scoyoc Associates (VSA) with a focus on congressional appropriations and taxation, expanding quickly to more than twenty practice areas, ranging from biotechnology, defense and education, to areas such as financial services, energy and telecommunications. In 1994, he established The Implementation Group (TIG), which specializes in opportunity identification and capture strategies for federal grants and contracts. In 2000, Stu created Capitol Decisions, Inc. (CDI) to provide government relations and public affairs counsel in the specialties of health care, grassroots advocacy, and community development. Finally, in 2002, Stu formed the law firm of Van Scoyoc Kelly PLLC (VSK) to provide counsel for military and other government contractors as well as for general commercial transactions. Stu's expertise is based on a consulting career which includes eight years at the prestigious Charls Walker Associates and several years in the Washington office of the Du Pont Company. Van Scoyoc earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Lehigh University in 1969, where he also received the Alpha Phi Omega award for leadership and outstanding service.

Michael K. Farr is President and majority owner of Farr, Miller & Washington, LLC. He is Chairman of the Investment Committee and is responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of the firm. Under his leadership, the firm has grown to over five hundred million dollars in assets, and has enjoyed performance ranked among the top firms in the country. Prior to joining FM&W, he spent six years with Alex. Brown & Sons, where he was a Principal. Mr. Farr is a graduate of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. Mr. Farr is heard on Associated Press Radio and National Public Radio, and he is quoted regularly in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fortune, The Washington Post, Businessweek, USA Today, and many other publications. Mr. Farr was a long time recurring panelist on PBS' Wall $treet Week. Mr. Farr is also a recurring commentator and guest host for CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg, Reuters, and the Nightly Business Report. He is currently a regular guest host on CNBC's Squawk Box. He is a member of the Economic Club of Washington, The Young President's Organization, and The Washington Association of Money Managers. Also, he is the author of "A Million Is Not Enough" which will be published by Warner Books. Mr. Farr is the Chairman of the Sibley Memorial Hospital Foundation. He also serves on the Board of Trustees at Sibley Hospital; he is the former Vice Chairman of the Board of the Salvation Army; he is a former member of the Board of Trustees of Ford's Theater; he is the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nation's Capitol Progress Foundation; former Chairman of the Board of the Paul Berry Academic Scholarship Foundation, as well as a member of the Board of the Neediest Kids. He is married and has two children.

Elliott Ferguson serves as Senior Vice President of Convention Sales and Services for the Washington, DC Convention and Tourism Corporation (WCTC). In this position, Ferguson directs and manages the activities of WCTC's convention sales and services staff as they promote Washington, D.C. as a premier meeting and convention destination. Ferguson is also charged with developing the corporation's convention sales strategy and working with local hotel properties to further build business for individual hotels in the metro area. Additionally, he is acting as interim head of the WCTC Membership Department. Prior to joining WCTC in 2001, he served as Vice-President of Sales for the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau and as Director of Sales for the Savannah Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Victoria Isley is Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications of the Washington, DC Convention & Tourism Corporation. She is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy to position Washington, DC as a world-class destination to local, regional, national and international audiences. Isley has successfully created, organized and launched several highly visible and successful region-wide cultural tourism and promotional programs. Joining the WCTC in October 2001 on the heels of September 11 she was directly involved in leading the communications effort to help the District of Columbia recover as a tourism and convention destination. Susanne Hartung, S.P. recently served as Vice President for Mission, Ethics and Community Relations for Swedish Health Services following the sell of Providence Medical Center to Swedish. She currently serves as Regional Director of Mission and Ethics of the Washington/Montana Region of Providence Health & Services Susanne is passionate about access issues, particularity for the poor and vulnerable and has worked to this end by building partnerships with a wide range of community groups. She also has played a lead role in Providence's sweeping campaign to reduce domestic violence in the community. Her current work includes a new initiative for Providence: Ministry Leadership Formation for the Executive Team as well as the integration of the newly formed Providence Health & Services. Prior to entering health care, Sister Susanne spent many years in the education ministry as a teacher, counselor and administrator. She holds a bachelor's degree in social sciences and a master's degree in psychology. She has also done master's work in history, advanced studies in theology and doctoral studies in business, and social and medical ethics at the University of Louvain, Belgium.

David Dux serves as sexton of the United Methodist Church in Washington. He is a life-long resident of Washington, and a member of the church, serving on various committees. Sam grew up in Towanda, and currently lives with his wife, Jane, in Lincoln. Jane is a teacher at Washington-Monroe school. Together they have four children and three grandchildren. Sam is a graduate of Normal Community High School and earned his B.S. in history, his M.S. in psychology and his Ed.D in educational administration from ISU. He also earned an M.A. in English from U.I.S. He is the executive director of Academic Development Institute in Lincoln and in his spare time is an avid reader, playing a little golf. He dabbles in genealogy too.
