Waterbury Hospital

Dr. Peter Zdankiewicz is currently a General Surgeon working at Waterbury Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, and the Naugatuck Valley Surgical Center in Waterbury, Connecticut. He has been the Chief of Trauma Surgery at Waterbury Hospital since 2006.

At the Winter 2007 Board meeting in February, Kevin G. Kett, MD assumed the role of President of the ICANL Board of Directors. Dr. Kett is Medical Director of the Cardiac Diagnostic Center at Cardiology Associates of Waterbury, Connecticut. He currently attends at Waterbury Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital, and is Clinical Instructor at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Kett earned his BS at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and his MD at State University of New York. Both his residency in Internal Medicine and his cardiology fellowship were completed at New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston where Dr. Kett served as Clinical Instructor at the Harvard University School of Medicine. He has served on the imaging advisory committee for the Connecticut State Medical Society.

Paul Preissler, MD, Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Connecticut Health Center/John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington, is a cardiothoracic surgeon at Saint Mary's Hospital, Waterbury Hospital, Hartford Hospital and John Dempsey Hospital. A graduate of the UConn School of Medicine in Farmington, Dr. Preissler completed a general surgery residency at Hartford Hospital and a thoracic and cardiovascular surgery residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals. In addition, he is an instructor of thoracic anatomy at the UConn School of Medicine. Board certified in surgery and thoracic surgery, Dr. Preissler is a member of Connecticut Cardiothoracic Surgical Associates, a private practice for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery in Hartford.

John Michaels is Chairman/CEO/Secretary of Michaels Jewelers. He resides in Southbury, Connecticut with his wife, Shirley. They have three grown children. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Finance. The following are some of the organizations of which Mr. Michaels is a member serving in various capacities: Naugatuck Valley Development Corporation, Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company, Waterbury Partnership 2000, Southbury Board of Finance, Treasurer of United Church of Christ in Southbury, as well as Chairman of Waterbury Hospital and Vice Chairman of the Waterbury Health Network.
