Nan-Kirsten Forte has been responsible for the WebMD Health web site and its user experience, content products, offerings and production operations since 1999. A WebMD veteran, Ms. Forte has been described by many as the "heart and soul" of the vision for online health -- its enabling power and its sheer pragmatism for ordinary folks. Ms. Forte has been in health media and patient education for 20 years, starting in the early 1980s when she received her unique masters of science in biomedical communications with a special focus on electronic media and worked at The Center for BioMedical Communications of the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. Following that, Ms. Forte worked in the exploding industry of health and medical news, information, education, journalism, publishing, marketing and promotion. She has created and developed award-winning retail health and wellness books, videos and CD-ROMs, television programs, and public awareness campaigns with leading industry names such as Time Inc., Warner Books, NBC, Reader's Digest, Discovery, and PBS. She worked on some of the earliest incarnations of health on the web with IBM. Subsequently, she was charged with launching iVillage's first health web site and did so in 1998 to much acclaim. Ms. Forte has won more than 300 awards and commendations from such names as the American Hospital Association, the American Medical Association, the National Institutes of Health, the Center for Science in the Public Interest, and numerous media trade associations. Currently, she serves on the Advisory Panel for Medicare Education, a federal advisory committee that provides recommendations to the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the CMS Administrator on ways to improve Medicare outreach and education. She has been a member of the American Medical Writers Association and the American Medical Illustrators Association.

John M. Hopkins, vice president of best practices, ensures site integrity and brand credibility for the WebMD Network of sites. His priorities include ethics, development, implementation, and compliance of policy, which covers privacy, advertising, editorial content, and sponsored content. Hopkins is responsible for third-party accreditation programs from URAC, TRUSTe, Consumer Reports WebWatch, and the HON Code of Ethics. Due to the sensitive nature of user communication and WebMD's core value to maintain integrity, he manages customer service policy and other related regulatory and compliance-related issues. Hopkins serves as the chairman of URAC's Health Web Site Accreditation Committee and has served as a member of URAC's Health Web Site Advisory Committee. He is also an active member in the International Association of Privacy Professionals and has been a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. Before joining WebMD, Hopkins served as director of business development for a medical services consulting company, where he maintained the clinical service needs of the medical facility, developed new strategic business relationships, and managed operational issues. Hopkins' previous experience includes work as a clinical respiratory therapist at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md. He is a U.S. Army veteran and graduated from the U.S. Army School of Respiratory Therapy at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. Hopkins also has a bachelor's degree in communication from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga.

Clare A. Martorana oversees the WebMD Health web site -- its content, community, services, products, policies, design, and production. Together with her staff, located in Atlanta, Georgia, and with executive vice president Nan-Kirsten Forte, Clare is charged with ensuring that both the millions of users who visit the web site daily and the sponsors who target those users are continuously satisfied and delighted. Before joining WebMD, Ms. Martorana served as chief operating officer at Oncology.com. Her responsibilities included the development of partnerships and clients, as well as identifying and resolving finance, IT, and operations issues. Her prior experience includes the positions of vice president and executive producer at CBSHealthWatch by Medscape. While at Medscape she was charged with developing CBSHealthWatch radio and broadcast programming as well as special projects for CBS. Ms. Martorana also worked as an independent film producer at SDR Films in New York where she produced numerous feature films and documentaries.
