Robert (Bob) D. Sznewajs, President & CEO, has more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry and was named President & CEO of West Coast Bancorp in January 2000 after serving as Vice Chairman at U.S. Bancorp. He earned a bachelor of science in accounting and a master of business administration in finance from the University of Detroit and is a certified public accountant. Bob’s professional affiliations include Board of Directors of the Portland Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Oregon Bankers Association Board of Directors (OBA), Christie School Board of Directors, Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Board of Directors and Coinstar Board of Directors. As President of West Coast Bank, Bob Sznewajs oversees more than 800 employees and 59 branches throughout Oregon and Washington.

Portland/Vancouver Regional President Dave Hansen has been active in the banking industry in Oregon since 1982. He joined West Coast Bank in 1992 and oversees 26 branches. Dave graduated from Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Finance concentration. He is also a graduate of the Northwest Intermediate Banking School, Northwest Intermediate Commercial Lending School, and Pacific Coast Banking School. Hansen is the treasurer and executive committee member for the Oregon Humane Society's Board of Trustees and board president of Behavioral Healthcare Enterprises, an organization affiliated with Tualatin Valley Centers. He is past board president of the Oregon/SW Washington Chapter of the Risk Management Association (RMA), past board president of Oregon MESA, and past Board Chair of the Portland Police Sunshine Division.

Tim Dowling, Regional President for West Coast Bank’s Puget Sound Region, oversees nine Washington branches and both the South Puget Sound and Central Puget Sound Commercial Banking teams. Tim has more than 20 years of banking experience, with positions ranging from branch manager to bank president. He has served with West Coast Bank since 1997. Tim attended the U.S. Air Force Academy for two years, then graduated from Gonzaga University with a degree in finance. He later earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Tim serves on the boards of Thurston County Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Council of Thurston County.

Anders Giltvedt joined West Coast Bancorp as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in April 2000. He previously served as executive vice president, retail branch finance and strategy group, of U.S. Bancorp, Minneapolis, Minnesota. His academic credentials include an MBA in finance and a bachelor’s of science in finance and marketing from the University of Oregon. In addition to his career accomplishments, Giltvedt has achieved numerous athletic awards. He attained second place in the 40+ U.S. Masters Squash Championships in 1999, won in the Norwegian Team Handball Championships in 1981 and 1982, and represented the Norwegian National Handball Team between 1978-1982. He was chosen Ski, Norway Athlete of the Year in 1980.

Mr. Bygland was named Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer in June 2002. Mr. Bygland previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for more than three years.

Xandra McKeown's thirty-one year banking career began at U.S. Bank. She joined West Coast Bank in 2000 as Executive Vice President of Commercial Banking. Xandra received a BA in economics from Whitman College and an MBA from the University of Oregon, executive program. She is a graduate of Northwest Intermediate Banking School and Pacific Coast Banking School. Xandra is the president of the Doernbecher Children's Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, member of the Oregon Health Sciences University Foundation board of trustees, trustee for the High Desert Museum Board of Directors, board member of Junior Achievement, leadership council for Clackamas Women’s Services and the Government Relations Council for the American Bankers Association. Additionally, she has held board positions with Willamette View, Inc. and NW Business for Culture and the Arts.

Mr. Ankeny is Chairperson of our Board of Directors. He has been a private real estate investor for more than five years.

Mr. McDougall was President and Chief Executive Officer of Willamette Industries, Inc., a diversified manufacturer of paper and other forest products, from December 1998 through 2002. Prior to becoming President and CEO, he served as Chief Accounting Officer, Executive Vice President and in other positions at Willamette Industries for 22 years. Mr. McDougall also serves as a director of Cascade Corporation, Infocus Corporation, and the Greenbrier Companies.

Mr. Bragg has been a Partner of Grenley, Rotenberg, Evans, Bragg & Bodie, P.C., a Portland, Oregon, based law firm, for more than five years. Mr. Bragg is also a director and immediate past Chairman of the Board of the Oregon Humane Society.

Dr. Wilgenbusch has served as President of Marylhurst University for more than five years. She chairs the Oregon Regional Advisory Board for PacifiCorp and is a director of Scottish Power and trustee of the Tax-Free Trust of Oregon. Dr. Wilgenbusch also serves as a director of Cascade Corporation.

Mr. Oliva has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Hi-School Pharmacy, Inc., for more than five years. He is a board member of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, the Columbia United Providers Insurance Company, and Oregon State University Advisory Board—School of Pharmacy. He is also a real estate investor.

Mr. Spence has been a Senior Vice President of UBS Financial Services Inc., a securities brokerage firm, and its predecessors in Portland, Oregon, for more than five years. Mr. Spence is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Marylhurst University and Vice Chairman of the Portland Art Museum.
