Xerium ensures that the paper industry is never caught with its pants down. Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Youngsville, NC, Xerium Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: XRM) manufactures and supplies consumables for use in paper production. The company operates in two segments: Clothing and Roll Covers. It makes the synthetic textile belts that transport paper materials during the production process. It also offers various roll covers for paper making. It has 36 manufacturing facilities in 15 countries and markets to paper producers with a direct sales force. The company had 2005 revenue of about $582.4 million and has about 3,850 full-time employees. In February 2006, its Stowe Woodward LLC subsidiary acquired privately-held Coldwater Covers, Inc. from The Coldwater Group for about $6.8 million.
